The Verisyse™ Phakic Intraocular lens, an implantable contact lens (ICL), was recently approved for use in the United States. There is extensive experience with this lens in Europe and Canada.

The Verisyse™ ICL is implanted in front of the crystalline lens to improve vision for those with severe myopia or patients not suitable for LASIK or PRK. The Verisyse™ ICL will be a short (about 20 minutes) outpatient operation performed with topical eye drops. And, since Verisyse™ is placed in front of the natural crystalline lens and nothing is removed, this procedure is reversible. Please ask whether this new approach may be for you.
